Something that we often overlook in our rush to do business is the protection of  our intellectual property and that of our clients.  This can include the systems we use, some of the codes that we develop especially for re-use and even the designs of websites.

To ensure we don’t neglect this important issue, we spent the best part of the day last week with our IP legal consultant Jose Fabiosa from the firm Ong, Bagay-Villamor, Fabiosa. Jose went through our systems, codes and designs to ensure first that there would be no legal harassment from any company that the staff have transferred from and also to ensure we have some system of documenting and protecting Intellectual Property, both for the company and for our clients.

If there is any lesson to be learned from past mistakes of other companies, it is to document everything properly and to vigilantly  protect security on this and other documentation including that relating to project management.
