It’s official with Adobe now. The software giant has confirmed their buyout of Business Catalyst and moved to calm worried BC partners.

In a statement on their website, Adobe states:

“On August 29th, 2009, Adobe acquired Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company Business Catalyst. Business Catalyst’s flagship product is a great complement to Adobe’s existing tools and services for the web, enabling web professionals to build online businesses for their clients at a fraction of the traditional time and cost, without programming.”

Adobe then confirms that there will be no price change and that BC staff and support will remain the same in a small QA section.

We at WebXpress believe that the Adobe takeover is good news. Adobe are a company who understand the webspace and so are a perfect fit for Business Catalyst. They are sure not to mess with anything that is working properly and will simply continue to improve the system. We are very very grateful the buyer was not Microsoft, who have a completely different approach to software development.
