It’s the kind of call most of us dread from our clients: “We need a website designed and implemented in three days for a launch”. Now there is a difference between taking a website live and taking a website live for a launch, where it will be scrutinised and feature in a media campaign. But regardless, we took on the challenge and had the website designed, revised by the client, cut into code, implemented into the Adobe Business Catalyst System, QA checked, revised again – And all in time for a smooth launch.
Recent structural changes we made in our organisation, helped the process immensely. Once the designs had been approved and cut into XHTML/CSS, our developers plugged in the templates and set up a Web App for the pages (Web Apps are of course a great feature of the Adobe Business Catalyst CMS and can be used in many ways), next the content department stepped in and using the web app, populated all the listings for the website.
Now I can’t tell you the URL or the client, because we keep that information confidential, (our clients are all web development companies, mostly using the Adobe Business Catalyst CMS) , but I can share these comments with you from a very happy client:
“Hi Mike just wanted to say a BIG thank you to you and your team for pulling the project together. It went live about midnight last night, thanks to some great assistance from Angelo on skype!
We worked out we’ve taken this from client brief and domain registration to completed site in about 55 hours or so!
I don’t reckon there’s too many firms, even large ones around town here that could have pulled that off.”
